Computed Tomography for Radiologic Technologists
Nowadays radiologic technologists have a great chance to get a certificate in computed tomography. It helps to expand their radiography skills and opens new prospects in their careers. Most computed tomography certificates prepare the technologist for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification exam.

Computed Tomography
Unfortunately, there is no degree specific to CT. However, there are post-degree certificates in computed tomography and CT technology. Computed tomography of varying advanced levels is a part of many bachelor’s degree programs in radiologic sciences. These include Bachelor of Science degrees in radiologic sciences, radiation science technology and nuclear medicine technology. On the master’s degree levels, Master of Science degrees in health science, radiographic practice, radiological science and biomedical sciences all offer advanced training in computed tomography. CT is also a part of a few Ph.D. programs in radiology.
Requirements for Certificate Program in CT
There are several requirements for the applicants to a certificate program in CT. They must have at least an associate degree and be a registered radiation therapist or radiographer. There are also some certificate programs that require that students complete a certain amount of education in CT prior to entering.
It’s very important to underline that there are some programs that allow the student to earn part of the certificate credits online. Other portions must be done in the school or college in order to give eligibility for the AART certification examination. Programs usually last 1-2 semesters or the equivalent. All courses include such subjects as physics, equipment and methods, sectional physiology and anatomy, clinical instruction and internship.
