Certificate programs are one to two year programs that are offered only through a hospital or clinic and all of the classroom learning and clinical experiences are supervised by instructors on staff at the facility.

Associate degree programs are two-year programs.

University of Missouri’s Radiology Program

The University of Missouri at Columbia is recognized nationally for many programs. This school provides training in radiology at the graduate level.

Radiology Elective

The 4-week elective in radiology provides clinical experience in radiology examination and interpretation. The elective is offered in nuclear medicine, radiation therapy, radiation biology and radioisotopes in medicine and biology.

Radiology Residency

The diagnostic radiology residency program provides training in neuroradiology, interventional radiology, CT and pediatrics imaging.
Clinical instruction takes place primarily at the University of Missouri Health Care. However, residents also work at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans’ Hospital and the Ellis Fischel Cancer Center.

Radiology Postgraduate Instruction

A 4-year advanced graduate instruction program in radiology is offered to qualified physicians. Physicians can specialize in nuclear medicine, radiation physics and radiopathology. Missouri Southern State University confers a bachelor’s degree in radiology technology.

Bachelor of Science in Health Science – Radiology Technology

The radiology bachelor’s degree program is available for those individuals who already have an associate degree and who already work in the field and a separate track for those earning their initial radiology degree. It’s good to note that radiology courses are offered both on the Missouri campus and online.

During their education students complete 44 credit hours of general education requirements, 18 hours of health care core courses and 57 hours of radiology courses. Some required radiology courses include introduction to radiology, radiation biology and patient care in radiology.
