University of Cincinnati’s Radiology Programs

The University of Cincinnati has a long history of providing the society with medical workers. The school was founded in 1819 as a medical college for Cincinnati residents. Associate of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology

This is a full-time, two-year program which includes general education classes, like social science and English, and radiology courses including basic radiologic technologyand radiographic pathology . In addition to that, students take classes in emergency first response and physiology and anatomy. A clinical practicum is also part of the curriculum.

During this program, students learn to properly position the patient and monitor their condition while using imaging equipment. The students learn how a radiologic technician’s skills assist in the diagnosis and treatment of illness or injury and develop an understanding of the radiologist’s needs. After successful completing of the associate’s degree students are qualified for the certification exam which is offered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Columbus State Community College (CSCC) was founded in 1963. Majority if the programs at the school are two-year associate’s degree programs. Students can choose from over 55 programs many different fields, including medical science and radiology.

Limited Radiology Certificate

Students in the radiology certificate program study how to position a patient for proper radiographic imaging. The program was created to teach radiation equipment operationand protection standards.

Associate of Applied Science in Radiography

The associate’s degree program is designed to teach students to safely use the equipment associated with radiography, diagnostic imaging and fluoroscopy.
