About Radiography Degree
Both therapeutic and diagnostic radiographers provide very important services to millions of people all around the world. Without them, modern medicine and healthcare would collapse. Because without detailed images of what is happening inside the human body, treatments would not be as effective, or valuable time may be lost.
Radiography goes far beyond X-rays, involving ultrasound, MRI (magnetic resonance imaging), angiography and CT (computed tomography) too. You could study diagnostic or industrial radiography, or perhaps a combined course. You learn about the science behind these techniques as well as a great deal of anatomy and pathology. There are 15 radiography courses available in the UK from diagnostic radiography and imaging to oncology and radiotherapy technology and the Society of Radiographers accredits 24 higher education institutions that run courses in radiography at present.
